Community Wet Mill & Research Center - ECO-FARM LA CEREZA
After years working towards sustainability along with the community of "La Argentina" in the south of Huila--and thanks to their effort--finally our Community Wet Mill and Researching Center for coffee processing is a reality. This great facility at the Eco Farm La Cereza began operations late in 2016, providing jobs for the farmers and creating a great solution for those farmers that lack infrastructure in the community of La Argentina and nearby areas. Since 2017, our farmers, students and partners from various countries enjoy having the opportunity to learn about our research methods, experiencing real educational time at this facility, where they can learn and experiment on different methodologies to process coffees from different varieties and altitudes, creating their own Naturals, Honeys and prolonged fermentations.
COLORS OF COFFEE - DRY MILL
Traceability, quality, freshness and customized orders are extremely important for us. This is the reason why Colors of Nature began operating its new Dry Mill in April 2017. Thanks to these facilities we will be able to process our own coffees in record time once our clients require them. To maintain the best possible quality, our coffees are stored in Gran-pro or Ecotact bags immediately after they reach the optimum humidity. Keeping all the coffees in parchment in this way is a much better method of maintaining the freshness of the coffees. When an order is ready we mill the coffee and export it straightaway. This project will also help us to provide further jobs to the community, creating economic alternatives for the families we work with.
